To unify and complete the limestone-clad exterior of Victoria Lane, Symonite provided a Full Facade service encompassing APL aluminium windows and doors, Alucolux cladding, louvres, flashings, and Reynaers fire rated aluminium joinery.

A collection of 23 luxury residences set over four levels, Victoria Lane in Auckland’s Remuera presents upmarket living designed by Leuschke Group Architects. Working for main contractor CMP Construction, Symonite is a façade specialist uniquely positioned to deliver projects that are challenging either in size or complexity, or both.

‘Offering our Full Façade service, we provided and installed window and door joinery, solar shading, fire rated windows, louvres and more,’ says Matthew Harris, Senior Technical Advisor at Symonite. ‘This complete service allowed the architects to collaborate on the façade design at the earliest stages of the project, and for head contractor CMP Construction to have a single point of contact taking responsibility for the successful completion of all façade elements outside the limestone cladding.’

Complementing the sophistication of the design

The design by Leuschke Architects, with interiors by James Doole Design, forms a distinct and vibrant edge to the south which acknowledges the Remuera Road strip, and a softer, cascading face towards the residential properties to the north. The focal point is a two-storey glass entry with adjoining louvres and cantilevered sculptured forms that mark the sophisticated interior awaiting residents and guests.

For the façade, Symonite combined performance and aesthetics in a contemporary aluminium cladding system created for local conditions, providing exterior products that perform in all weather conditions, meet the most stringent code and standards, and bring elegance and architectural integrity to the design.

‘For the external cladding we used a combination of Aliclad Max aluminium weatherboards and Alucolux solid aluminium panels,’ says Matthew. ‘Aluminium windows and doors were installed by Symonite using APL Window Solutions, while our sister company ACMF provided the aluminium fire rated windows, louvres and sun screens.’

Combining premium products in a complete solution

Aliclad is an extruded aluminium weatherboard system that is installed vertically on proprietary Alpha rails run horizontally. It comes in a series of proprietary profiles – square grove, V groove, board & batten – and all profiles clip together within the system. Duratec powder coated for durability, board & batten Aliclad provided Victoria Lane with a robust and beautifully detailed finish when complemented by the Alucolux panels.
